When starting out just a standard full wetsuit with long arm and long legs, or even a shorty in the summer, will probably be perfect as they are cost effective, can be worn for multiple watersports and at the end of the day you don't know if they are going to enjoy it. Once they are hooked then you can start looking at more techical wetsuit set ups for your kids, a long john wetsuit with a matching top will provide a year round solution with a few added accessories.
